Mrs. Catherine Ann "Cass" (Weidner) Houck, 93, of Fleetwood, joined her husband in Heaven on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Born on November 8, 1929 in Fleetwood, PA, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Edna (Ohlinger) Weidner. Her husband of 58 years, Donald R. Houck Sr., passed away on May 5, 2010. Catherine's life was defined by her love of Jesus. She was a longtime member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church, Fleetwood, and also a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Blandon. She spent many years serving the Lord as a Sunday school teacher at Faith Bible Fellowship Church. She shared His love, and her famous cookies, with everyone she met. Catherine was a 1948 graduate of Fleetwood Area High School. She loved to spend time with her family and would enjoy playing cards with her niece, Judy, and her friends at Encore. Catherine is survived by her two children, Donald R. Houck, Jr., husband of Karen J. (McKently) Houck, Fleetwood and Andrea Lee (Houck) Weist, wife of Jeffrey M. Weist, Muhlenberg Township. She was also a Mom to Dara Silvers, Cresskill, NJ. Catherine is survived by several grandchildren of whom she was most proud, Ian Houck, husband of Nicole Houck, Wyomissing, Madison Washer, wife of William Washer, Montclair, NJ, Mariah Bankemper, Philadelphia, Beth Geddio, Philadelphia, Wyatt Bankemper, Reading, and by Amy (Weist) Smith, wife of Cody Smith, Lancaster. She is also blessed with her great-grandchildren, Caden, Kellen, Remington, Isaiah and Mason. Along with her parents, and her husband, Donald, Catherine was preceded in death by her sisters, Mabel Schwoyer and Helen Hunsberger. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Catherine on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. A viewing will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Your Mother would visit Manor Care in Lauraldale every week. The people just loved her and so did I. I would see her from time to time and she remembered me and my family and my Mother, Grace. God Bless.
