Daniel Falkenstein Obituary

Daniel J. Falkenstein Sr., 82, Birdsboro, formerly of Philadelphia, died March 11, 2008, in Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of 55 years of Marie (Talunas) Falkenstein, who died in 2002.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he had been a resident of Birdsboro for more than 30 years.

He was employed by Ehrlich Pest Control as an exterminator until his retirement.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Union Township.

A man devoted to his family, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid football fan and also loved to watch western movies.

He was the loving father of Daniel J. (Kathleen) Falkenstein Jr., Middletown Township, Media, and Jean (Henry) Shanaman, in Michigan.

He was the loving grandfather of four and great-grandfather of four.

He was the dear brother of Anna May Boyle, Helen (William) Drolet and William (Lorraine) Falkenstein.

He was the brother of the late John Falkenstein.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of Our Lady of Charity, 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.

Contributions in memory of Daniel Falkenstein may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103. Arrangements by the Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home of Middletown Township, Media.
