Coach Gilmore there are no words to describe what you meant to myself and my family. So many great memories and life lessons came from you throughout my years of knowing you. Many of those lessons were taught at Windsor and Ritter and George Field. I will miss that handshake every time I saw you either on a Friday night or while I was on the street and I would see you on 11th St. out on the stoop. RIP Coach.

I an sadden to hear of Danny's passing. My condolences to the entire Gilmore family.
I am an old, old acquaintance (from south 8 street and Reading Iron) of Danny and several others of the Gilmore family. I knew Danny from our youth even though I was several years older. What I knew back then that Danny would grow to be a wonderful fellow human being. It was no surprise that he would be a mentor for our youth and a great family man.

Danny was a wonderful person. I first met him in Mr. Schmehl's difficult algebra class at Southern Jr. High. He sat right behind me! He was quite good at algebra and helped me through it with patience and humor. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this fine man's passing. May the memory of his life, well lived, be an inspiration and blessing to you always.

Coach Gilmore,
I write this with a heavy heart. I want to say thank you for always believing in me and pushing me to be the best I can be. You taught me so much about the game but more importantly about how to be a better man. I can still feel your hand on my shoulder offering me encouragement and coaching me up. During our lives we all have people other than our parents that have had a tremendous impact on our lives. Coach, you were/are one of those men that have help shape and mold me into the man I am today. I will never forget after one of my college football games you came to see, you grabbed and hugged me and said in my ear how proud of me you were! Rest in peace Coach, I love and will miss you!!!

On behalf of Sis and I, we would like to offer our condolences to the Gilmore family. Danny and I spent many years coaching youth football together. Danny was such an outstanding role model and mentor to so many young boys. It was honor to share the sidelines with him for so many years. Rest easy my friend, until we meet again!

My Dad and I had the honor of coaching mite football for the NW Spartans with Danny. He was great with the kids, and such a warm and kind man. Danny was always patient with the kids as he taught them the game, and a friend of all the fellow coaches. He had a passion for working with the kids, and thought that teaching them hard work, sportsmanship and teamwork was far more important than winning and losing. He could always make us laugh and had a quick and contagious smile. He was one of those rare people that you KNEW you would like the moment you met him. His son played for us, and clearly had the same nature as his great Dad. Our prayers are with his family as they go through this difficult time, God rest the soul of this kind, gentle caring man.

I was so honored to have known Danny from the time we were teammates in Midget baseball at Pendora Park through Reading High School. But some of my fondest memories were reminiscing about our younger years while watching our grandsons play at Wilson football games. I always left those conversations with Danny laughing and smiling. My sincere condolences to the Gilmore family. God bless.

Gilmore Family I was saddened to hear of Danny's passing. He was a teammate of mine at RHS. In 1965 we were the double play combination of Charlie Dunkelberger. We were also teammates in basketball under Pete Carril . Danny was a great guy ,always upbeat and willing to put team first. His smile and humor were infectous. Rest in Peace my Friend.
