Dennis Clarence Baldwin, 82, passed away August 30, 2022 of natural causes at his beloved Robeson Township residence (The Farm). Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Clarence Clifford and Lucy Edith (Stango) Baldwin. He was the husband of Carol Lou (Weitzel) Baldwin with whom he shared 57 years as his loving partner. Dennis had several career paths during his life, as a homicide detective with the Philadelphia Police Department, manager for the Shillington IGA for 28 years, and owned Berks County Lawn Doctor franchise, retiring in 2008. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved being in the outdoors hiking, canoeing, hunting, and fishing. He hiked the Appalachian Trail. All his hobbies took him to many different locations which he was always eager to share with his family. Dennis was a former member of the Shillington Lions Club and was involved with Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop #204, Shillington. Surviving in addition to his wife Carol, are his 4 sons – Daniel M. Baldwin, Lewes, DE, Dru M. husband of Traci Baldwin, Birdsboro, Devin M. husband of Janine Baldwin, Bowmansville, Dennis M. Baldwin, Birdsboro, and his 6 grandchildren – Dylan, Cameron, Dalton, Dallas, Jake, and Emmitt. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Mark and his sister Mildred McCall. A Celebration of Life to remember Dennis, a loving husband, father, mentor, and friend will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Farm, 419 Beavers Road, Birdsboro. Flowers are welcome or contributions in Dennis’ memory to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508. So sorry to hear of Dennis´s passing and to have missed the remembrance celebration at the farm. It was a very busy weekend for me as we moved mom and Dad into assisted living. Claudia was out of town. Pete is recovering and rehabbing from a health issue so I was busy. Otherwise we would have attended. It would have been good to see you Carol Lou and the boys.

Carol and Boys, we are so sorry to hear about Denny.
We have many fond memories of him while growing up in Philadelphia. Denny and my brother Sam were good buddies and hung out together for many years. They had their own little
rat pack and had lots of fun together. Denny was the best and we will all miss him, but he is now with his Dad and Mom and many other of our family members!

We are saddened to hear of your loss of Mr. Baldwin.
He was a great man and a mentor to all in so many ways. He was the father we wished we had.
Our decision to make the move to NY was always a dream and Dad Baldwin gave us the push (or kick!) we needed to make dreams come true and are living life to the fullest.
We both loved when he would share stories of hunting and fishing. He was a true outdoorsman.

I will always have fond memories of Dennis and the opportunities he gave me at the Shillington IGA. I still work in Accounting today because of those opportunities. We were one big family. God bless you Carol and sons. He was a great man and a legend to many.

Sincere condolences from the Gottshall family. I worked for 3 years in the deli at the Shillington IGA(78 to 81). Some of my fondest memories are from that store, and it was like a big family. Denny was wonderful to work for. God Bless you all !

Carol and the boys, so sorry to hear of Dennis´s passing. Deni played a very important part of my life growing up and working at the Shillington IGA. I can honestly say that I wouldn´t be where I am today without his guidance and direction. My memories of him will always be near and dear to my heart.
