Derek Shakespeare Obituary
On Sunday, August 12, 2018, Derek R. Shakespeare passed away in his home on his 21st birthday.
Derek was born August 12, 1997, in the Reading Hospital to Suzette Y. (Gable) Shakespeare and Dean R. Shakespeare.
Derek previously attended Governor Mifflin High School. He had aspirations to further his education through a
degree in Information Technology.
Derek is survived by his mother, Suzette; his father, Dean; and Dean's fiancé, Laura Wasylak; his brother, Dustin; his grandmothers, Elizabeth Shakespeare and Kinuko Gable; his aunt and uncles, Angela and Todd Troupe and Eugene and Lisa Shakespeare; along with
several cousins and extended family.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Eugene R. Shakespeare; maternal grandfather, Edmund Gable; his great-grandmother, Evelyn H. Gable; and his uncle, Mark Gable.
Derek loved his family, his girlfriend, Alexis Tobias, and his cats. Derek enjoyed writing songs and would never be seen without his headphones. He had a passion for music and loved to play his guitar. He loved making people smile, talking to strangers, reading and helping others. His
memory will remain forever in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, August 17, 2018, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., One East Lancaster Ave.,
Shillington.

Derek and I used to be very close friends. I still remember going to pick him up right after school and driving around with him while he would LOUDLY sing Justin Bieber songs to me just because it made me laugh. He was there for many of my hardships in life and I wish I could have been there for his. I really hope he found peace in the afterlife. He was a big goofball with an even bigger heart and heaven just got one more well deserved angel. I am forever blessed for the time I spent with you Derek and I am so sorry we lost touch. I'll love you forever.

It seems like only a short time ago the Derek was here at our home sleeping over with the guys from the neighborhood and having fun. He had a generous smile and was always polite when he was here. Austin was very shocked to hear of his passing and I am sure all of his classmates feel the same. He will be remembered fondly by us and we are so very sorry for the pain you must all be going through. Blessings and prayers to you all in this very difficult time.
