Diane Geist

Diane G. Geist, 60, of Bern Township, passed away Wednesday August 18, 2021 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Daniel K. Geist, married in Jamaica in 2002. Born in Phoenixville, Mrs. Geist was the daughter of Doris (Batzel) Wert of Spring Township and the late Stewart Wert. She began her working career as a veterinarian technician at a hospital in Norristown then a Registered Nurse at Reading Hospital MICU and ER became Director of Nursing at Denver Nursing Home; House Supervisor at St. Joseph Medical Center; and finally a personal care nurse for Dr. Michael Burofsky in Wyomissing before retiring. Mrs. Geist is also survived by her 3 step children Kevin D. Geist, husband of Selena Geist of Wyomissing; Brian P. Geist; Elizabeth A. Kaylor, wife of Jake Kaylor of Muhlenberg Township; and son Jeffrey W.A. Geist of Minersville and her step grandchildren Hayden, Lily, Levi, Milo. Also surviving are her brothers Danny Wert, husband of Linnette Wert of Reading and David Wert, husband of Terri Wert of Wilkes-Barre. Diane enjoyed racing quarter midgets when she was younger and had a great love for dogs including all of the ones she has rescued over the years. Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 am. Reverend John Conover will officiate. Interment will follow at Laureldale Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Tuesday 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
