My sympathies to the entire Evans family. I am a 1971 Exeter grad and I crossed paths with Don three times. First as my teacher in both seventh grade pre-algebra and in tenth grade Geometry (twice in four years). The second time was when Don, along with Wayne Murray were Park Rangers at French Creek State Park (I was a lifeguard at the time). Finally the last time (and more lasting) we met as colleagues when I got my first teaching job here at Southern Lehigh School District (we met at the dinner for new teachers in Bethlehem). This began many times of sitting and listening to Don's stories and discussing teaching and education in general. I especially remember the times that we spent at Gettysburg at the annual PSEA leadership conference which he loved attending. I really don't remember much about those math classes forty years ago but I remember thise hour we spent discussing education and I like to think that he has had some influence in my 35 year career in education. Don, God bless and Rest in Peace.
