He was the husband of Sandra L. (Cataldi) Weitzel.
Born in Mohnton, he was a son of Pearl (Beavens) Weitzel of Cedar Top, and the late Paul Weitzel.
He was a lifetime member of the Gouglersville Fire Company where he was a firefighter and engineer, and served as secretary for many years. He also was a member of the Fritztown Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Michael P., husband of Lori A. Weitzel, Gouglersville, and Thomas J. Carbaugh, Stevens; two daughters, Patricia A., wife of David Blimline, Sinking Spring, and Anita L. wife of John A. Lewis, Wyomissing; grandchildren Kristen M. Weitzel, Jena L. Shupp, Taylor M. Lisney, Jessica L. Weitzel, Gabrielle V. Lewis and Ashley L. Carbaugh; and a great-grandson, Silas M. Schnader.
Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters.
He was predeceased by two sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Monday at 10 a.m. in Mohnsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Lung Association, 2121 City Line Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017-2100.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. of Mohnton.

Sorry for your loss of Donald. We worked at Prestolite and had some great times. His birthday was March 31st, and mine is April 1st, so we always remembered each others birthday.
