Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Cardone) Lavigna.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Francis T. Gill Sr., on May 8, 1981.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
She was employed for many years in the local garment manufacturing industry.
Edith is survived by her son, Frank and his wife, Carol (Weidner) Gill, of Exeter Township.
She is also survived by four grandchildren: James Gill, Jeffrey Gill, Elisa Wilchacky, and Christina DeLong; and five great-grandchildren: Nicole DeLong, Corbin DeLong, Holly DeLong, Ben Wilchacky, and Lauren Wilchacky.
Edith was predeceased by three sisters: Frances Leas, Elsie Hahn, and Irene Glase.
Relatives and friends may extend their sympathy and respects to Frank and his family at the Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., 239 South Ninth Street, Reading, Pa. 19602 on Wednesday, January 30th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Prayers will be celebrated by the Rev. George Winne at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale will follow.

Frank and Family, I'm sorry for your Mom's passing. I knew Edie and your Dad through my aunt Liz Gattone on 9th St. I'll always remember them sitting on the porch during the summer.
