Edward Longenecker Obituary

Edward W. Longenecker, 100, of Victoria TX, formerly of Reading PA, passed away on Dec. 11, 2021. He was the husband of Marie Leber, to whom he was married for 59 years. Born and raised in Reading, he was the son of Walter M. and Edna Burkey Longenecker. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his parents; his brother, Chester Longenecker, Sr.; sister, Catherine Graves; and his dearly loved granddaughter, Paige Marie Kelly. Ed is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Daniel Delage of Peachtree City, GA and Lori and Jeffrey Johanson of Victoria, TX; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters. Ed lived his life with steadfast devotion to God, family and country. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corp as a radio operator and nose gunner on the B24 bomber. Ed’s kind heart, determination, positive attitude and concern for others was evident until the very end of his life. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Victoria, TX in the near future.
