Ethel Zagerman Obituary

Ethel Ravitz Zagerman, 74, Mount Laurel, N.J., died peacefully Oct. 8, 2006, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro, N.J.

Ethel leaves behind her beloved husband of 51 years, Jack Zagerman.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Ravitz.

Ethel grew up in Reading and trained to be a nurse at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Though her nursing career ended when she became a mother, she never stopped caring for others. She loved her children and grandchildren, her friends, walking on the beach in Sarasota, the Phillies in good times and bad, Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, Larry David, the color blue and, always and above all, Jack.

Ethel, we will miss you forever. You enriched our lives and made us better people. You taught us how to love deeply and loyally, how to be a friend, and how to accept the curve balls life throws us. Your compassion, grace and beauty changed our lives.

She is also survived by three children: Steve (Carol Oppenheimer), Diane (Don Golder) and Robert (Connie).

Other survivors include a sister and friend, Rachel (Ravitz) Yaffee (David).

There are also five grandchildren: Auden Golder, Sophie and Willa Zagerman and Jordan and Morgan Zagerman.

Memorial services will be today at noon at Prospector’s Restaurant, Route 38 and Ark Road in Mount Laurel, N.J. The Mount Laurel Home for Funerals Inc., Mount Laurel, N.J., is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ethel’s memory to the Sunshine Foundation, 1040 Mill Creek Drive, Feasterville, PA 19053.
