Eva Stankard

Eva J. Stankard, the daughter of the late James A. and Mary C. Bra-zill, of Willow Street, died Jan. 17, 2012, at her home. She was 54 years old and a resident of Lancaster.

Eva was a graduate of Penn Manor High School and Millersville University, with a degree in Nursing. Eva had a distinguished 33-year career and was committed to making others' lives better.

Personally she was dedicated to helping others in need by donating money, new clothing, food and toiletries to many shelters and food banks.

Eva loved holiday family dinners and weekend get-togethers, where she was a fierce competitor at cards and board games. In her youth, Eva excelled at art and dancing, especially to disco music. As an adult, Eva enjoyed reading magazines, watching TV, going to movies, traveling to Alaska and Maine and trying her luck in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Eva had five siblings: sister, Ida A. Steinbrecher of Bellingham, Mass.; sister, Gay L. Brazill of Lancaster; brother, Jay P. Brazill of Lancaster; and brother, Jon P. Brazill, of Washington, D.C.

She was predeceased by her brother, James A. Brazill Jr.

A private service will be held by the immediate family. In lieu of flowers and cards, contributions may be made in Eva's memory to your local Salvation Army, Goodwill or food bank.

Eva was loved by many and will be missed. She is at peace.

Arrangements entrusted to the John P. Feeney Funeral Home, in Reading's Centre Park Historic District, 625 N. 4th St. at Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Obituary can be found and online condolences made at johnfeeneyfuneralhome.-com.

I was an LGH School of Nursing class member with Eva. She was always well-liked and had such a wonderful sense of humor. I am saddened to her of her passing. She will be missed!
