Born on Sept. 19, 1944, in Allentown, he was a son of Paul Robert and the late Eleanor Elmira (Schauer) Moyer.
Gary was a graduate of Reading High School in 1962 and Kutztown State College in 1975, where he received a B.S. in education, majoring in social studies and history. He also attended Penn State University and a law school in San Francisco.
He was employed as a purchasing agent for both Fred Hodges Bedding, Reading, and Bachman Foods, Muhlenberg Township.
He was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.
He is also survived by a sister, Gail K. Moyer, Savannah, Ga.
In addition, he is survived by two aunts, Lorraine D. (Schauer), widow of Buster R. Weiser, Muhlenberg Township; and Virginia (Epting) Schauer, Kutztown; and an uncle, Howard P., husband of Lorraine Schauer, Topton.
There are also five cousins surviving: Marshall, husband of Pamela Schauer; Mike Schauer; Brand, husband of Dao Schauer; Julie, wife of Ronald Fairman; and Anne L. Schauer.
Gary is also survived by many other relatives.
Services will be Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.

I will always remember Gary saying " There she is " as I would enter the building to walk the dog. And Gary's reply when ever I asked "How are you" His reply was "Older and grumpier". Which he never was. He will always be missed.
