His wife, Patricia M. (Hagmayer) Ermentrout, died in November 1968.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George D. and Loretta H. (Henke) Ermentrout.
Ermentrout was employed for 30 years as an underwriter by CNA Insurance Co., Reading, retiring in 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda M. (Ermentrout) Hanley, Shillington; and three sons: George D. III, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Gregory A., Shillington; and Geoffrey W., Pennside.
Other survivors include two brothers, Frederick C., Kansas City, Mo., and Jack W., Arlington, Va.; and three sisters: Rita (Ermentrout) Franco, Birdsboro; Margaret (Ermentrout) Horrigan, Wyomissing; and Loretta H. (Ermentrout) Chelius, Reading.
There are also seven grandchildren.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements. Contributions can be made to St. Ignatius Loyola RC Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, Pa. 19608.
