Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce (Hamilton) Davidson; daughters Dayle Poncelet of West Lawn; Donna (Larry) Hauver of Frederick, MD; Debra (Ted) Wierzbicki of Oley; and Daren (Gary) Magno of Longmont, CO; grandchildren Sara, Janice, Emily, Amelia, Alison, Garrison, Glenn and Stuart; great-grandchildren Madison and Carly; and his cat, Oliver.
Born in Newark, NJ, on December 16, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Isabella (Glen) Davidson.
Glenn was predeceased by his younger brother, Raymond R. Davidson, in 2001.
Glenn was a graduate of Kearny High School and the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ.
He spent 14 years with United Engineers and Constructors of Philadelphia and then became Director of Business Development and Client Relations with Gilbert Associates for 30 years, traveling extensively throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, South Africa and the Middle East. He retired in 1996.
A member of the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council for Penn State's College of Engineering during the 1990s, Glenn was also a contributor for the textbook "Financial Risk Analysis of Infrastructure Debt: The Case of Water and Power Investments."
In addition to his professional career, Glenn was active in his community. Devoted to his faith, he became an ordained elder in his local Presbyterian Church. He also served as Councilman in Willingboro, NJ, in 1966. And, although the loving and patient father of four girls, Glenn liked to joke that he "escaped" to volunteer as Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts in Maplewood, NJ.
Never someone content to sit around, Glenn came out of retirement to work at the Reading Hospital in both part- and full-time roles, well into his 80s.
More affectionately known as Bumper, Glenn most valued time with his family, especially summers spent with the "whole gang" in Avalon, NJ. He was a familiar face at all of his grandchildren's games, recitals and graduations through the years, and recently loved cheering on his great-grandson and the Wilson football team, never missing a game.
An avid golfer, he also enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling with his beloved Joyce around the country and throughout Europe.
Glenn will be remembered most for his love of family, work ethic, generosity and kindness. He will be greatly missed and cherished forever.
A memorial service to celebrate Glenn's life will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. at West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Avenue, West Lawn, Pa.
Glenn's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Berks Heim, for their attentiveness and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Glenn's memory to West Lawn United Methodist Church, West Lawn, Pa., or the Reading Hospital Foundation – Healing Garden, Reading, Pa.
