Grace German Obituary
Grace M. German, 57, Reading, died Feb. 8, 2011, in her residence.
She was the wife of Gary G. German.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Erwin J. Brown Jr. and Margaret M. (Eddinger) Brown.
She was a graduate of Reading High School in 1971.
She last worked at Kenny's Luncheonette, Reading.
She is also survived by two daughters, Angela M. German, Philadelphia; and Melissa A. German, Reading; and four grandchildren.
Other survivors include two sisters, Janet Pelker and Marilyn Gaiewski; five brothers: Gene Lash, Richard Lash Sr., Raymond J. Brown, William J. Brown and Ronald Brown; 18 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Erwin J. Brown III.
Services and viewing will be Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Henninger Funeral Home Inc., Reading. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Gary German at Riverfront Federal Credit Union, 430 S. Fourth St., Reading, Pa., 19602.

we never know when our time on this earth is finished but our heavenly father knows....we may not understand but he does...he is so good to us and is always there to help us through difficult times in our lives. just lean on him and remember our loved ones are closer to us then we think that they are...if we could just reach out believe me i think we could touch them.....this is how i get through all of this and thought i would share this with you....

im sorry for your loss... Grace wasnt just a friend to me,she was a mom,a friend,a counselor,a grammy(to my girls)the best person you will ever meet.missy,gary,angie...if ever you need anything just call ill be there.
Grace,i will forever miss you!!!i love you always you will never be forgotten in my heart.we've had great times together,laughs,tears,hugs,kisses.they will always be in my memory...I LOVE YOU my dear friend you are at peace now watching us all with the angels.

You are in our thoughts and prayers just as Grace has been for many months. She was a remarkably strong lady, a fighter to the end. Sorry we won't be able to be at the service, Walt is in Georgia, but we will be praying for you and your family.
Grace will be missed at the Marine Corps functions.

I wanted to tell the family I am very sorry and sad about everything. Mom will be missed very much.. I remember her taking care of me at camp, she was the first person I called mom. I will always love and miss her.

No words will help, you are going to have to go through that corse of emotions that it takes to get you through it. As time goes on and people more forward and you are stuck with just the memory of your mother, that's when you have to lean on God and trust him even more to help ease the pain. Just know that when you look for comfort don't rely on man because man will disappoint you but God is forever faithful. Be blessed my sister and feel free to call me, if for nothing else to have someone to vent to. ILY!!!!

My family is praying for you and your family. May God grant you comfort in your time of sorrow.
You know Grace influenced many lives over the years. I have many fond memories of her. From when we were children, with the twins and Erwin, and all the times she made me laugh at Kenny's. I loved her food, her service, and her wisecracking mouth.
And of course after Dad died she was a big help with the Luncheonette!
We remember how much she cared about her grand daughters, daughters, and you. So many good memories we all have.
I smile when I think of Grace. May God give you and your family peace.

Doug and I are so very sorry to hear about Grace going on to be with the Lord. We are here for you, let us know if you need anything, if you need to talk, vent, we will listen. I would like to send my deepest heart-felt sympathy to Gracie's family & friends. I've known Gracie and her daughter's Missy & Angie for over 25 years.Gracie was my girl scout leader when I was in brownies. We have spent alot of time together camping over the years up at Eagle's Peak Campground. I am very saddened by the passing of a very good friend. My heart-felt condolesences go out to the entire family. May god bless Gary, Missy, and Angie at this most difficult time in their lives. May you find peace and solace within your hearts. I would also like to send my deepest heart-felt condolscneces from my grandmother and the rest of the Tolland family who were so very close to Gracie. My grandmother is currently in the hospital, so I would just like to say that from the bottom of her heart that Gracie will be greatly missed!
