James Carmen Menicucci

James Carmen Menicucci, 74, of Sinking Spring, passed away on December 5, 2022, at St. Francis Home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the loving husband of Joan M. (Wolszczenski) Menicucci. Married on May 5, 1973, they shared over 49 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Silvia (Corcetto) Menicucci, Wyomissing and the late Peter Menicucci.

Jim was a graduate of Central Catholic in 1966 and attended Penn State Berks Campus.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army rising to the rank of Sergeant. He proudly served from 1968 to 1970, including a year in Vietnam.

Upon his return from the military, he worked in his family's business at Wenger's Bakery at 10th & Windsor. Later he was an electronic technician for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.

He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle RCC, Shillington.

Jim enjoyed adventure. He spent time as a pilot, enjoyed the outdoors and loved to travel. Jim was always drawn to the water especially boating and jet skiing. An enthusiast of all things mechanical, he liked to attend air and car shows. Above all else he loved his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his three sons: Daniel J. (Rachael), Pittsburgh, PA, Matthew J. (Misty), New Oxford, PA, and Anthony J. (Kelly), Shippensburg, PA; two siblings, David (Diane) Menicucci and Deborah (John) Longenecker, and four grandchildren: Katie, Alex, Leah, and Kyle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 9, 2022, at 1:15 p.m. at the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery with entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis Home, 144 Hillside Drive, Shillington, PA 19607. Edward J.
