James Niskoch Obituary

James Richard Niskoch, 66, formerly of Lincoln Park and most recently a guest at Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Royersford died January 11, 2024, in Phoenixville Hospital / Tower Health. Born May 13, 1957, in Linden, New Jersey, he was a son of the late William and Mary R. (Hlopko) Niskoch. He was a graduate of Linden High School and received an associate degree in computer technology from Berks Technical Institute. James was employed with Boscov's, Laureldale for over 25 years, before retiring as a supervisor in the return center in 2020. He enjoyed working part-time at Home Depot in Wyomissing where he met many new friends. He enjoyed golfing with his nephew and friends and fishing trips to Canada for over 25 years. James is survived by two older siblings: Joanne N., widow of Paul B. Grunzig of Muhlenberg Township; and William J., husband of Laura Lee (Colton) Niskoch of Neptune, New Jersey. Other survivors include two nephews: Christopher Niskoch, husband of Jen Niskoch of Manasquan, New Jersey and Erik Grunzig husband of Marcy Owens of Mohnton (PA) and two great nephews: Keith Grunzig of Muhlenberg Township and Adam Grunzig of Ephrata (PA) and who he called his "kids" James McCarty, Patrick McCarty and Elizabeth McCarty of Denver (PA). He was predeceased by a nephew, William Niskoch. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veterans Making a Difference, 2412 Spring Street, West Lawn, PA 19609.
