Jennie Merlino Obituary


Jennie (Mavilia) Merlino, 89, Birdsboro, died Dec. 12, 2010, in the Berkshire Center, Exeter Township, where she was a patient for 1 1/2 months.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Maria (Cordaro) Mavilia.

She was the widow of Frank Merlino, who died on July 7, 1965.

She had been employed as a seamstress for the former Duvid Manufacturing of Birdsboro before her retirement.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Union Township.

She is survived by two sons, Nicholas and Anthony Merlino, both at home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception RC Church, 905 Chestnut St., Douglassville (Union Township) on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception RC Cemetery.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions should be made to Immaculate Conception RC Church Building Fund, 905 Chestnut St., Douglassville, PA 19518. The Dengler Funeral Home Inc., Birdsboro, is in charge of arrangements.

I was so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Ted showed me the obituary when I visited him on Sunday. I hope someone can show you these messages of sympathy and caring since I'm not sure you have a computer.
She had a long life and cherish the wonderful memories.
