John Donahue Obituary

John J. Donahue, 74, passed away on February 14, 2023, in his Wyomissing residence. He was the loving husband of Anna Marie (Ferrara) Donahue. They were married on August 25, 1973, and enjoyed 49 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Richard F. and Katherine M. (Busch) Donahue. John was employed by Price Waterhouse, General Battery, and later Carpenter Technology for 32 years until his retirement in 2011. He was devoted to his family, his faith, and his fun-loving friends. With his great sense of humor and welcoming ways, John brought smiles to many. Taking part in many running and cycling races over the years, including running the Marine Corps Marathon, John loved the spirit of competition. He is survived by four siblings: Richard F. and family member Samuel Franklin, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Katherine A. (Jesse Brumbach - deceased), Wyomissing; Patrick H. John was a classmate at CCHS. He lived his life with Excelsior. We had loads of fun at Central and at football practice. John was a solid young man steeled with a quality character and a sense of humor. I can imagine him being a wonderful husband and father. It can make his loss all the more difficult. No question, that heaven is welcoming this stout Irishman and Alum.
Praying for his families comfort. It takes a minute to meet someone, an hour to love them and more than a lifetime to forget them. Fondest memories John , Donald Blair.
