Katherine Zabczyk Obituary

Katherine K. Zabczyk, 96, of Reading died of natural causes during the afternoon hours of Sunday, May 25, 2014 in the Mifflin Center, Cumru Twp.

Mrs. Zabczyk was predeceased by her husband, Louis Zabczyk, on December 28, 1995. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harry W. and Edith L. (Broadman) Schaeffer.

Mrs. Zabczyk is survived by her nephew, Fred, husband of Sharon Ostrowski of Shillington, with whom she last resided. She is also survived by two nephews and three nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Schaeffer, and her sister, Evelyn (Schaeffer) Krell.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Reading. Mrs. Zabczyk was employed by the former Yocum Brothers for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed being at home and watching television with her nephews cat Sam. She will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends may extend their sympathy and respects to the family of Mrs. Zabczyk on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., 239 South Ninth Street, Reading, PA 19602. A Religious Service will be officiated by the Rev. Carol B. Kehler at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary R.C. Cemetery, Reading.
