Katie Adams Obituary

Katie Paiva Adams, 34, Reading, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at her residence.

Katie was born in Tacoma, Wash., on May 13, 1976, where she spent the first 16 years of her life as a happy, witty, straight A student.

She was a daughter of Mary E. (Post), Reading; and Anthony Paiva, Washington state.

In her midteens, heroin and other drugs gradually took over that beautiful mind. She suffered from physical pain due to injuries over the years and emotional pain from addiction, depression and bipolar disease.

Katie never turned anyone away if they needed her help, even in her worst times.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Paiva; her father, Anthony Paiva; her partner, Tony Edna; and countless friends who loved her dearly. She died in her sleep and no longer suffers. She will be missed terribly.

Arrangements entrusted to the John P. Feeney Funeral Home, in Reading's Centre Park Historic District, 625 N. Fourth St. at Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601. Obituary and condolences at www.johnfeeneyfuneralhome.com.

Although I do not know your loved one, I am so sorry for your loss. I thank you for being so honest and sharing your pain about her life's story. If this helps even one individual, it will be worth it. I am going to use this obituary as a learning example to my teenager niece. I am truly sorry for your pain and heartache. May God watch over you and your family and give you peace. So sorry for your loss.
