Born in Washington Township, he was a son of the late Sallie (Herb) Nester and Daniel Nester.
He was an employee for 40 years of the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and the former Occidental Petroleum Co., both of Pottstown.
Levarn was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a school bus driver for 10 years for the Boyertown School District.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Hill Lutheran Church of Boyertown.
He was a life member of New Hanover Fire Company, where he served as a volunteer fire policeman. He was also a life member at Sassamansville Fire Company, New Berlinville Fire Company, Bechtelsville Fire Company and Gilbertsville Fire Company and was a member of Pike Township Sportsmen's Association.
One of his proudest accomplishments was the fact that, along with his late wife and family, he had built his home literally from the ground up over the years.
Levarn is survived by a son, Glenn A. Nester, husband of Gale, Pottstown, and their children, Lynne and Bryan, and their granddaughters, Geraldine and Ava Lynne; a daughter, Bonnie K. Stoltz, wife of Frank, Reading, and their children, Sarah and Joseph; a daughter, Deborah A. Peters, wife of Jeffrey, Northampton, and their children, Jacob and Hannah; a son, Randy L. Nester, Boyertown, and his daughter, Amanda.
He is also survived by his sister, Rebecca N. Fry, Boyertown.
In addition to his wife, Levarn was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Nester.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, starting at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hill Lutheran Church, 244 Koch Road, Boyertown, PA 19512, with Pastor Jeff Odgren officiating, and to his visitation on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Hill Church Cemetery, Pike Township.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 330 S. Ninth Street, Third Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Funeral arrangements are by Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525.
