Martha Thomas Obituary

Martha J. Thomas Martha J. Thomas, 88, of Reading, passed away Sunday, April 25th, at Mifflin Center, Shillington. Martha was born in Reading, on February 23, 1933, a daughter of the late Martha (Widmyer) and Joseph Flay. A 1951 graduate of Reading High School, She attended Philadelphia General Hospital and worked as an LPN in Reading. She served in the medical field of the United States Navy. Martha last worked with the mentally challenged at Circle Of Friends, in Reading. She was a faithful member of Praise Christian Fellowship. Martha is survived by a daughter, Cathleen, wife of Russel Gabe, of Reading, and a son, Michael Thomas, of Reading; Martha is also survived by a sister, Anne, wife of Clarence Smith, of Oley. a brother, Timothy, husband of Deborah Flay, of Florida; She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Martha was predeceased by a daughter Michelle and a sister Nancy Levan, along with 2 brothers Joseph and Robert. The service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The Sanders Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1501 North 11th Street, Reading, is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.sandersfuneral.com. Interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Mt. Penn.

To the family of Martha, I am so sorry to hear about her passing. She is now pain free and with Michele in Heaven. They can play lots of cards up there. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
