She loved the beach, the outdoors and wildlife, and always took time to care for and feed the birds and squirrels. She was incredibly devoted to her long-time companion kitty, Kiara. Surviving are her children, Steven C., husband of Virginia L. Sowers of Blandon and Michael P, husband of Meghan E. McDevitt of Pittsburgh. Also surviving is a grandson, Brandon T. Sowers, a brother, Charles J., husband of Manetta R. Maniaci, her former husband, Michael J. McDevitt, and several nephews. She is the widow of Earl R. Sowers, who passed away in 2012. I met Mary when Steve started dating my daughter, Virginia (Gina). All through the years that we were family, Mary amazed me. She was a firecracker wrapped up in a small package. You just never knew how things would go, but you could count on it an eye opener. God knew when she needed to come home, even if we didn´t like it. But rest assured, we´ll all see her in heaven again. Miss you.

We will always remember being invited to their home for Pot Pie Dinner. She made the best Pot Pie and she made plenty of it.
