Mary Workman Obituary


Mary E. Workman, 64, of Lancaster, passed away

Tuesday May 24, 2011, in Hospice of Lancaster, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late James P. Speaks and Kathryn L. Workman.

She was the wife of Dwight Williams under Islamic law.

Mary was employed for 13 years for QVC of Lancaster as an assembler.

She is survived by sisters: Deborah, widow of Homer Colbert of Reading; Diana, widow of Danny Liggs of Reading; Wanda Workman of Reading: Vanessa, widow of Robert Willis of Reading; Carmen Robison of Jacksonville, NC; and Mary, wife of Roland Phelps; and brothers: James A. Speaks Jr.; Jonathan W., husband of Valerie Workman; and Candido M., husband of Jamilla Workman, all of Reading, and Anthony Thornes of Philadelphia.

Mary is also survived

by stepdaughters, April Rhoads, Tina Carraway and Doris L. Pinder, all of Reading, and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by brothers: John J., Michael S. and William Workman.

Services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. in Henninger Funeral Home Inc., 229 N. 5th St., Reading.

Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
