Mildred Whitman Obituary

Born May 26, 1932, Mildred Whitman was destined to be the Queen of the May more than once in her lifetime. Beautiful inside and out, Millie, as she was known, was born Mildred May Grubb in Elizabethtown, PA. Married to William B. Whitman, Millie is survived by William and their three children, Byron, Paul Michael, and Wendalin and many beautiful grandchildren. Millie graduated from Kutztown State College and was both May Queen and Homecoming Queen. Millie was a great lover of life, but she always put her family first. She adored her children and her grandchildren and made them her highest priority. Millie loved travel and loved people. She always knew how to make others laugh. Frequently her jokes were driven by her own antics and personal experience. When she became an empty nester, Millie started a real estate career at 40 and created a life helping others obtain home ownership. Her example inspired her daughter to follow the same career. Millie was kind and devoted and greatly loved by all who met her. Her capacity to return that love was beyond measure. Millie truly found a way to be optimistic through nearly any circumstance. She saw the best in everyone and forgave anyone who was unkind. Her patience was that of a Saint. She always said, "You can never know what others are going through." Empathy was her lifelong mantra. Millie died on November 23, 2022. She will never be forgotten and will forever be greatly missed by her family. Rest in Peace, dear Millie. We love you so.

I can hardly believe how the years have flown bye!! I always felt welcome in the Whitman home by both Bill & Millie.I enjoyed watching the children Wendy,Billy. To Bill when we ate at the Berkshire Country Club we saw Sally &Bryon Whitman. My small daughter saw Sallie & thought she was Lisa grandma as they had a similar appearance. It is nice to have wonderful memories. God Bless the Family for the Christmas Holidays!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Millie's family and all her friends throughout the Berks County community.
I had the pleasure of working with Millie for many many years as a fellow Realtor and always looked forward to and enjoyed when helping customers brought us together.
She was simply a first class lady and a tribute to the local real estate profession, being trustworthy and making all she crossed paths with feel comfortable.
Millie told me over and over how proud she was that her daughter became a Realtor as well.
Millie will be sorely missed!
God Bless her!

I met Millie many years ago when we were real estate agents at Berkshire Network. Millie was such a nice person, and would strive to help her clients as best as she could possibly do, didn't matter if it were a high-end seller listing their stately, country home with her, or a first time buyer searching for the perfect city starter home. She often sought me out to help her learn the ever changing technology that she needed to stay updated on to stay on top of her business. It was a pleasure to have known you, and may you rest in peace.
