She was employed as a sewing machine operator with various knitting mills for over 20 years.
Millie is a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading. She loved cooking and was known for her excellent spaghetti and meatballs.
Millie was loved by everyone and loved her family which includes three children: Patricia A., wife of Thomas "Tink" Krick, of Reading; James C., husband of Debra Strausser, of Reading; and Lou S., husband of Kristin A. Durbec, of Mohrsville.
Other family includes her seven grandchildren: Tammy, wife of Tony Pugliese; Chrissy, wife of Ted Wright; Tasha, wife of Ryan Ness; Thomas Krick, companion of Pamela; Kevin Krick, companion of Angie; Tabitha Durbec,
companion of Andy; and Dannielle, widow of Shawn Peters. There are also her ten great-grandchildren: Salvatore, Isabella, Ava, Aiden, Wyatt, Gemma, Ashley, Ethan, Rebecca and Shawn.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and two former daughters-in-law, Darlene and Shirley.
Millie was predeceased by a grandson, Wayne Wetzel; and two siblings, Rose Schaeffer and George Galt.
Prayer services will be held Monday, November 28th at 11:00 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Monday from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
