He was the beloved husband of Irene R. (Schlenker) Grim. They were married Dec. 20, 1947.
Born in Greenwich Township, he was a son of the late G. Dewey and Florence M. (Smith) Grim.
Mr. Grim was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where he served as a former member of church council. He was a 1943 graduate of Kutztown High School.
Mr. Grim was a self employed dairy farmer from 1947 until 1972. He was also employed as an equipment operator and groundskeeper by Kutztown University from 1972 until his retirement in 1988. Prior to that, he was employed as a farm helper for Pius Kutz for two years, a milk truck driver for Clarence Dietrich for five years, and an equipment driver by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 1947.
Since 1988, he has served as treasurer and most recently the superintendent of the New Bethel Zion Cemetery Association. Mr. Grim was the President of the Future Farmers of America, Kutztown in 1942.
Paul, a.k.a "Pop-Pop," loved hunting with his family, woodworking, cheering on the Phillies, taking trips to Herman's Drive-In, and cuddling his adoring great grandchildren.
Survivors: wife; daughters, Betty L. (Grim), wife of Ronald E. Imboden, Kempton, Jean M. (Grim), wife of Leroy Stoudt, Fleetwood, and Sue E. (Grim), wife of Gary A. Kline, Kutztown; sons, Richard P., husband of Linda M. (Sunday) Grim and Robert S., husband of Deborah E. (Youse) Grim, both of Kutztown; and sister, Catherine (Grim), widow of Lester Schlenker, Great Falls, NY.
Other survivors include ten grandchildren: Beth A. (Grim), wife of George L. Adams; Kate M. (Bower), wife of James F. Pizzelanti, Brad M., husband of Kim C. (Johnson) Bower, Aimee L. Grim, companion of Jason L. Schaeffer, Megan R. Grim, companion of John Kovacs, Jennifer S. (Lich-tenwalner), wife of Nicholas Koinski; Sheila M. (Lichten-walner), wife of Michael Sacks, Nichole E. L. Groot, Timothy Grim and Todd Grim; 15 great grandchildren: Dillon T. Grim, Elizabeth A. Gross, Finnegan Koinski, Isabella L. Piz-zelanti, Dominick J. Pizzel-anti, Lilia R. Pizzelanti, Giana I. Pizzelanti, Lucas P. Pizzelanti, Eleanor M. Bower, Avery L. Bower, Katelyn Grim, Cody Grim, Zackery Grim, Alyssa Grim, and Kay-lee Grim.
He is also survived by his best buddies, Sunny and Thomasena.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Grim.
Services: Funeral services will be held today, August 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown with Rev. James R. Hammond and Rev. Guy R. Grube officiating. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call today from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church.
