Richard Depue Obituary

Richard D. Depue, 85, Womelsdorf, and formerly of Summit, N.J., died May 12, 2008, in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Vera A. (Panasik) Depue, to whom he would have been married 65 years on July 17.

Born Jan. 27, 1923, in Summit, N.J., he was a son of the late Roy and Nora (Bensley) Depue.

He was employed for 21 years as a welder by Curtis Wright, Caldwell, N.J., before becoming a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Summit. He worked there for 23 years until retiring in 1987.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He had been a volunteer firefighter in Summit for many years and enjoyed bowling.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Joan, wife of Jeffrey Swanger, Womelsdorf.

Other survivors include three grandchildren: Nancy DuChemin, Jennifer Chung and Albert Minikus; and four great-grandchildren: Kelsey and Nicholas Duchemin, Mechell Minikus and Joshua Chung.

There are also several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in William R. Dangler Funeral Home, 309 Springfield Ave., Summit. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, N.J. Viewing will be Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home.
