Richard J. Kislan

Richard J. Kislan, Ph.D., 84, of Rockland Township, formerly of Glassboro, NJ, died Saturday, November 19, 2022, in his home. Born in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, NJ, Richard was a son of the late John P. and Cecelia (Obertz) Kislan. Richard served briefly in The United States Army. A graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, in 1964, a Master's Degree in Theatre Arts, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Musical Theatre, were both conferred upon Dr. Kislan from the New York University, New York, NY. Dr. Kislan was a Performing Arts Professor at Rowan University of New Jersey, Glassboro, NJ, for 36 years, until his retirement in 1994. Dr. Kislan has written two books, "The Musical...A look at American Musical Theater" and "Hoofing on Broadway." Services for Dr. Kislan will be private.
