He was the husband of Dolores M. (Gilbert) Lape. Born March 1, 1931, in Sheridan, Lebanon Co., he was a son of the late Roy S. & Stella (Weidner) Lape.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Womelsdorf; a member of Pioneer Fire Co., Robesonia; and a life member of the Newmanstown Athletic Assn. Richard retired in 1993 from Aluminum Alloys, Sinking Spring.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings: Larry Lape and Carroll Lape, both of Newmanstown; Roger Lape, Arizona; Vernon Lape, Richland; Jeanette Bennethum and Sandra Brossman, both of Wernersville.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family in Pleasant View Cemetery.
