Rita C. Mullen

Rita C. Mullen, 82, of Wernersville, died March 18th 2022 at Phoebe Village. She was the wife of Henry J. Mullen. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Milnamow) Duffy. Rita worked for First Pennsylvania Co., Tidewater Oil Co., Bress Data Entry, Montessori Day School, Weis Markets, and Redner’s Markets. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Whitfield; LAOH Div. 1 Berks Co. (Founding President) & West Lawn Quoiting Association. She was a former Eucharistic Minister and active in many church related activities in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Reading. Rita was a graduate of West Catholic High School, Philadelphia,and attended Miseracordia Hospital School of Nursing. She is survived by three children: Mary-Jo T. Mullen, CPA, Esq. Camp Hill, PA., Henry J. Mullen, Jr., husband of Gretchen, Minneapolis, MN., and Rita E.M. Wise, D.Ed., MSN, wife of Edward, Shillington. Other survivors include a sister, Sr. Theresa Duffy, IHM, Exton, PA, and eight grandchildren: Ellen Wise, Alison Wise, Joseph Mullen, Joshua Wise, Elizabeth Mullen, Samantha Wise, Katelyn Wise, and Jonathan Wise. Two brothers, Joseph and James Duffy, predeceased her. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church 2810 St. Albans Dr., Sinking Spring, Pa. 19608. Friends may call at 10 AM before Mass. Entombment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may also call Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 6 PM to 8:30 PM at Kuhn Funeral Home 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, Pa. 19611.
