She was employed as a Division Supervisor for 43 years with CNA Insurance until she retired in 1990. Ruth was known as a hard worker and even took the work load home at night to work on. She enjoyed her job. Although she said she didn't care for the traveling she did with her employer, she often talked about the places that she went to.
Ruth enjoyed nickel and quarter poker while sipping a beer on Friday nights. She enjoyed going to the casinos. Ruth loved to shop and visit the shore. Her favorite thing to do was to decorate for each holiday.
She was a member of the Crystalette's Softball Team and lately really enjoyed following the Topton VIPs.
Ruth is survived by her cousin, Maryann Focht of
Fleetwood; her best friends, Rosalie Landis and Peggy
Jarvis of Muhlenberg Twp.; and her furry pal, Sammy.
A funeral service for Ruth will be Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. Ruth will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.

As a member of the CNA management staff, I had the pleasure of working with Ruth in the 1980s. She was very efficient, hard-working and got along well with everybody. During a time when the local office grew from a few hundred people to about 1500, Ruth was one of the key people who made the transition successful.

Ruth was such an inspiration to me!!!! She was my boss for many years. I will always remember getting to my desk in the morning, sat my purse down, phone would ring and I would turn around and she would be looking at me with her 1 eyebrow raised. Knew something was up right away. I will miss her birthday and Christmas cards with her pics of her puppies. She never missed a year since she retired. Always asked how I was doing and how Doug was. RIP Ruth - you were definitely a wonderful person!!!!!!!!!
