Shirley M. Bleile Shirley M. Bleile, 92, formerly of Shoemakersville, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Phoebe Berks. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald F. Bleile. Born in Centerport, she was the daughter of the late Mark V. B. and Katie E. (Mogel) Miller. Shirley was a 1946 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. She was a member of St. Luke’s Union Church, Shoemakersville, where she served as the president of the women’s guild, and was a member of the choir for 50 years. Shirley was employed at the Shoemakersville Post Office for 30 years. During the last 14 years of her employment, she served as the Post Master, retiring in 1987. She also was the president of the Berks County Post Masters Association. She sang with the Mellow Dears of Shoemakersville for 15 years. Shirley was a Past Matron of the Blue Mountain Order of the Eastern Star which is now the Conrad Weiser Order of the Eastern Star 449, a member of ladies auxiliary, Shoemakersville Fire Company, and the treasurer of the Shoemakersville Recreation Board. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always energetic and caring. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those she touched over the years. She is survived by two sons: Dr. Dennis M. Bleile, San Ramon, CA; and Steven M. Bleile, Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Miller, Wernersville, also survive her. Shirley was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Lee Bleile, a son Kim M. Bleile, and sister, Anna Potteiger. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 11 A.M., at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 South 4th Street, Hamburg. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M..
