Born in Reading he was the son of the late George F. Goerner Sr. and Elinor L. (Klein) Goerner.
He was employed by RM Palmer in Reading for over 28 years as a maintenance mechanic. He was a member of RMC in Oley, had a passion for motorcycles and racing mini and micro sprint cars along with being an avid Minnesota Vikings Football fan.
Mr. Goerner is survived by his son, Thomas M. Goerner Jr., husband of Amy S. Goerner of Womelsdorf, and his daughter, Deborah A. Beeman of Mohnton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Tommy, Jessie, Taylor, Halie, Grayson and Brianna along with his former wife Phyllis A. Goerner of Wernersville.
Also surviving are his siblings: Margaret Santos, wife of Ronald Santos of Mechanicsburg; Regina Ohlinger, wife of Harold Ohlinger of Wernersville; Robert Goerner, husband of Sherry Goerner of Myerstown; MaryJo Ray, wife of Timothy Ray of Shillington; Michael Goerner, husband of Donna Goerner of Pottsville and Joseph Goerner, husband of Theresa Goerner of Hamburg along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Goerner was preceded in death by his brothers George F. Goerner Jr. and Stephen Goerner.
Funeral Service will be held privately by the family.
