My deepest condolences to Barbara, Jim Jr, and family. I was the Havertys' UPS driver for many years while they owned Lakeside TV. Stopping at their store was the highlight of my day because it was always so homey, clean, and friendly. Barbara always had bright colorful flowers planted in the front to add to the charm. The Havertys knew I loved food and always kept me well fed! Be it a BBQ they had going or a snack tray on the counter or a deli sandwich, they always kept me stocked up for the rest of my day. Jim gave me the strength to keep going in my career. On days when I felt like quitting, he always encouraged me to hang in there until retirement, which I did in 2008, thanks to Jim! I remember Jim and I would love to talk money and I still hear his voice today saying, "Nobody is rich. It's just an illusion". I'm finding out this quote rings so true with each day that passes. Jim knew what was important in life and it showed in the way he kept his store and most important, always having his family around him. Gonna miss you old buddy. Take care Barbara and family! Miss you guys!

I didn't know Jim very well, But the day I met him and his wife Barb I knew they were a awesome couple. We went on a few rides with the "chicken club" and we were welcomed with open arms as if we had known them forever...My prayers are with you Barb...

I have such fond memories of Jim! Big, big, big heart! He always had candy for my daughter, Kate, and I have a great photo from 17 years ago when he was sharing his blue lolipop experience with Katie. My deepest condolences to Barb! Kate and I have always had a smile when we think of Jim and we will always, always think so fondly of Jim!
