PHILLIP CARROLL STAEHLE

Phillip Carroll Staehle, 94, passed away on June 2, 2023, surrounded by his children, just 68 days after his beloved wife, Elizabeth Estelle (Betsy) Staehle, passed away. Phillip and Elizabeth were married for exactly 73 years filled with love and adventure. Phillip was born on September 11, 1928, in Berkeley, CA, to Frederick Carroll Staehle and Ethel Maud (Barrows) Staehle and raised primarily in Rio Vista and Berkeley, CA.
Phillip attended Berkeley High School and University of California at Berkeley.
Phillip was known for the kindness and consideration he afforded others, and especially his children and grandchildren. Throughout their life together, Phil and Betsy squeezed as much joy and fun from each moment, always demonstrating undying loyalty and love for each other. Whether it was playing baseball, diving for abalone, water or snow skiing, travelling to Hawaii or Mexico, coaching or watching his children's sports, Phillip's life was happy and filled with family and friends.
Phillip shared his full life with his children Ann Marguerite (Staehle) Nolasco, Thomas Frederick Staehle and Zoetta Staehle, Victoria Louise Staehle-Finke and Stephan Finke, and Phillip Charles Staehle and Melissa (Griffin) Staehle. He was beloved by his grandchildren Sara Davis, Beau Davis, Ellie Davis, Katie Davis, Lanie Lou Nolasco, Natasia (Staehle) Kamra, Gabriella Staehle, Anna Katharina Finke vonStaehle, Heather Staehle, Jennifer Staehle, Elizabeth (Staehle) Andersson, and Thomas Michael Staehle. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Phil was a professional baseball player, captain and commissioner of the Lower Lake Volunteer Fire Department, an accountant, rancher, coach of Senior League baseball, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He relished being active with his family and community.
