Ralph Brown Obituary

Ralph David Brown Sr., born June 26, 1952 in Klamath Falls Oregon passed away on May 19, 2011. Ralph was one of the first fourteen American Indian Movement (A.I.M.) activists to lead the take-over of Alcatraz Island in 1969. Ralph settled in Upper Lake were he raised his family. Ralph worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Upper Lake. He retired working for them as a engineer. Ralph leaves a wife, Eileen Brown, of Upper Lake; children Ralph D. Brown Jr. of Upper Lake; Randall and Gwen Brown of Middletown; Rudy Brown of Upper Lake; Vanessa Niko of Upper Lake and Ralph's long time companion Coveda Miller. Ralph has many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ralph loved being with his family and being outdoors. He was a friend to many and will greatly be missed.
Visitation at Ralph's home began Sunday and will continue thru 10 a.m., Tuesday. Graveside service will be at Upper Lake Rancheria Cemetery, Dewell Rd. Ext., Upper Lake, on Tuesday, May 24 at 11 a.m.
