Our VCH, Veterans Coffee House meets monthly at the Wlfd Senior Center which not only gives our Vets the chance to socialize but also take part in enjoying a guest speaker which are related to military topics, slide presentations and Q&A.
At this very difficult time, our group would like to honor the loss of Albert Barbieri as a fallen brother. Our military Veterans send out their heartfelt condolences to the Barbieri family and friends. As a US Air Force Veteran, he had joined an elite group of honorable men and our Country will forever be in his debt.

So very , very long ago , I grew up a block away from the Barbieri's household ! I was in the same class in school with Edmund . Albert worked with me at First National Grocery Stores , while he was in High School ! Life was so much different back then ! We all went to Washington Street School , then to the now Town Hall ,Robert Early Jr High school, then on to Lyman Hall High School ! We all played in the streets, until dark and at Westside field ! So many friends have left us , I hope Albert gets to meet up with some of them,To the Family, please accept my deepest condolences on your loss ! May Eternal Light shine upon him, and may God bless his soul ! Rest in Peace my friend.

The wonderful Barbieri clan has suffered another loss, with Ed's wife not that long ago. We are saddened, of course, but we know the strengths of this resilient family, honed by years of sacrifice as well as faith and family, will see them weather this latest sadness. As MacArther once famously said, " The shadows are lengthening for me," and for all of us Holy Trinity families of a certain era, but we can be comforted by the belief that there is a rendezvous awaiting all of us hard-working folks someday, with Al, Rosemary, parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors, etc., people of good will, who have left this world stronger and more joyful from their having lived and loved. Enjoy each day.
