Alice K. Paxton

Alice K. Paxton passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the age of 81, following a lengthy illness. She was born on March 19, 1941 in Huntington Long Island New York. Having been a long-time resident of Meriden with her husband Richard, they raised four children, Donald, Lisa, Annette and Wendy; and also welcomed five grandchildren, Richard, Michael, Daniel, Amanda and Benjamin; and four great-grandchildren, Riley, Jordan, Carolina and Oliver into the family home where she resided for nearly 55 years.

In her youth, Alice had been employed by the Meriden Record Journal newspaper as a proof-reader and previous to her retirement, she was employed by The Meriden-Wallingford Hospital as payroll manager for 28 years, leaving there with many lasting friendships. She had great love for her long-time neighborhood friends, Ernie & Carol, Jim & Sandy and also John & Diane. Alice also greatly enjoyed gardening in the yard, caring for the local wildlife, and riding on her John Deere tractor, but she especially appreciated a warm cup of tea and playing scrabble with her best buddy Diane.

In the last years of Alice's life, the assistance and companionship offered by her granddaughter Amanda formed a special bond between them.

Per Alice's request, no services will be held, but she asks that donations be made in her memory to the animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J.
