Anna F. Palance

Anna F. (Fischer) Palance, 88, of Plainville, died Thursday at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General.

Born in Germany, the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Meier) Fischer, she came to the United States in 1938 and lived most of her life in Plainville. She was the widow of Philip Palance. A member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville, she also belonged to AARP, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, was an honorary life member of the Lieder Kranz, a past member of Sangerbund, and was a member of the Miller Home, where she had served on the board of directors. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed traveling, knitting and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter Heidi Palance, of Plainville, two sons, Philip M. Palance, of Texas, and Frank Palance, of West Haven; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held April l6, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Plainville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plainville Volunteer Fire Dept., 77 W. Main St., Plainville, CT 06062.
