Bette Shepard Obituary
Born on Nov. 28, 1936, in Cheshire, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Gertrude Rabideau. ""A working woman all her life"", Bette was employed as a clerk for ShopRite for many years. She was an avid fan of the N.Y. Giants, Boston Red Sox and UConn Huskies. Bette especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A cherished wife, mother and grandmother, Bette will be greatly missed.
Bette is survived by her children, Mike Shepard and his fiancé, Donna, Randy Shepard and his fiancé, Mary Jane, Dawn Way and Doug Shepard and his wife, Mary; six grandchildren, Gregory Shepard, Brian Shepard, Brandon Way, Camarie Shepard, Noelle Shepard, Alex Shepard; four sisters, Gail Richards, Gloria Richards, Lorraine Johnson, Coral BeeBee; a brother, Jerry Rabideau Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Loretta Hager, Judy Bacon, Doris Moore; and infant sister, Grace Rabideau. ""There never was a woman like her. She was gentle as a dove and brave as a lioness."" Andrew Jackson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Our family smiles when we remember Bette, Louie and their family. We all had such fun together and will never forget the great memories. Who else would go on vacation with 6 kids and 4 adults or play cards til the wee hours of the morning. What a great memory. I miss Bette to this day and cannot go into Shop Rite without smiling. Love to Randy, Dawn, Douglas and Michael.

"THE" Bette as she was affectionately know to all of us at The House of Hair will surely be missed. Bette was a wonderful lady who was always happy. She was a staple at the salon, at around 3:00 every Friday "The" Bette would come in and stir the place up. I know for sure she is looking down on us all. Thank you Bette for the good times and laughter.

Bette always spread joy and laugher to all the customers at Shop Rite. Bette especially enjoyed talking with the young children. Bette would always get them to smile with her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
