1931 - 2024
Frederick L. Giampietro, Sr., 93, of Cheshire, passed away on October 25, 2024, at Elim Park. He was the husband of the late Marie (Orsini) Giampietro.
Fred was born on July 31, 1931, in Waterbury, a son of the late Luigi and Rosalinda (Elia) Giampietro, and was a longtime Cheshire resident. He attended Waterbury schools and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. He proudly served his country as a Korean War Veteran and was the co-owner of Westbrook Nursery in Cheshire for many years.
He is survived by his sons Frederick L. Giampietro Jr. and his wife Kathryn and Philip Giampietro, Sr. and his wife Leigh, grandsons Claude Giampietro and his wife Danielle, Philip Giampietro Jr. and his wife Jessica, and Brian Giampietro and his wife Katherine, granddaughter Michelle Weiss and her husband Karl, and 8 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents and wife, Fred was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Donald.
Funeral services in celebration of Fred's life were held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Cheshire Lutheran Church, 660 West Main Street. Prayers of committal and interment followed in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends gathered at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. For additional information or to leave words of sympathy, please visit www.fordfh.com.
