Glenn Odell Obituary
Born in New York City, June 12, 1947, a son of the late Quentin "Bob" Odell and Grace Scherpf Odell, he had been a Wallingford resident for many years. Glenn was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Navy as a corpsman. He had been employed by the Town of Wallingford police department for 30 years until his retirement and was a member of the Wallingford Police Benevolent Association and the Wallingford Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, No. 1365.
Besides his wife Judith, he is survived by his two daughters, Paige Odell, of Middletown and Brooke Odell ,of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Taylor, Connor and Cole; his brother, Kim Odell, of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Kennedy.
A celebration of Glenn's life will be held Monday, June 4, at the Gouveia Vineyards, 1339 Whirlwind Hill Rd., Wallingford, from 4 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to St. John the Evangelist Church, 360 Church St., Yalesville, CT 06492. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford.

I was remembering Glenn the other day. Seems like yesterday that we were playing cards around Judy's mom and dad's kitchen table. Glenn, Judy, Kim, and Bruce. So many years ago. So many good memories. I miss those days when everything seemed easy. God bless all those you have gone by and all the days of our lives.

I can't believe it's been 8 years since Glenn's passing. I think of Glenn from time to time and remember football. He was my center and protected me in high school. and then he protected me as a member of the police force. I like Glenn a lot, he was a good friend. May he rest in peace. Odell Family,
I am so sorry for your great loss. I met Glen while we were both at Mid State Medical Center getting chem. treatments. Glen was such a strong, positive, kind person. Talking with him helped the time pass. I was so surprised and very sad to hear that Glen passed away.

We got to know Glenn and Kim when Wallingford was still a small town, everyone knew everyone, and they had just started their careers with the Wallingford Police Dept. Glenn and I lost touch over the years as happens to so many of us, but the memories will go on forever.
We played football together for Lyman Hall back when there was no glory involved. The team was kind of like the Chicago Cubs. We didn't win many, but we enjoyed the game and the friendship.
Glenn was a good guy with a great sense of humor and treated all he knew with respect.
It was an honor knowing him.

I was so sorry to learn of Glenn's passing. We were high school classmates. It was 3 years ago that Glenn and I reconnected - he was transporting my husband from Masonic to MidState for tests following his stroke. The next time I saw him, I ran into him at work at MidState and he told me the awful news. But he declared he would fight it. He was such a nice person whom I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with the Odell family.

Judy and family, I am so sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. As an officer, he always had the respect of everyone he worked with and really made it an easier place to be. If you stopped at his desk, no matter how busy he was he would always ask " how are you doing " and take time to talk to you. He is in our prayers and thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. It seems like yesterday that we all were young,in love,having babies and making plans. Life passes in an instant.
