Harry Dyer Obituary
Harry was born to the late George and Eugenie (Cote) Dyer on July 2, 1930 in Woburn, Mass. Mr. Dyer was a reporter for the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, and then for the Meriden Record-Journal for nearly 20 years, finally retiring from the Hartford Courant, as a copy editor for the sports department. Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his fiancé, Eunice LaChioma, of Bridgeport; son, Brian (Shauna) Dyer, of Arlington, Va.; daughter, Yvonne Sourragh, of Hamden; sister, Yvonne (Ronald) Sarofian, of Haverhill, Mass.; three grandchildren, Travis Sourragh, of Hamden, Cailin and Xander Dyer, both of Arlington, Va.; two nieces, Amy Moeller and Stephanie Sarofian; as well as two great-nieces and two great-nephews. Harry was predeceased by his daughter, Renee Dyer; brother, George Dyer; sister, Irene Dyer; and granddaughter, Alyssa Dyer.
Family and friends will gather at the Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Ave., Hamden on Sunday, Sept. 5, from 12 to 2 p.m. for visitation. The funeral service will then take place at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, with military honors. For those wishing, donations can be made in Harry's memory to National MS Society: Lone Star, 8111 N. Dear Yvonne and Betsy,
Sorry to hear about your dad Yvonne. I will never forget you all coming to our Christmas party. That is when we met you Yvonne for the first time. Cant believe he is gone. I used to run into him all the time in Stop and Shop. Now he is with Renee and Alyssa up in heaven. My prayers go out to you and your mom.

I will always remember my week in Cape Cod with you, Harry,Brian,Renee and Alyssa. It will remain one of my dearest memories.
