Jacqueline Nadile Obituary

Jacqueline Ann Filipek Nadile
Jacqueline Ann Filipek Nadile, beloved wife of 63 years of the late James "Jimmy Bell" Nadile and the only child of the late Thaddeus and Stephanie "Sally" (Miarecki) Filipek, left this life on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, to join Jim, her lifelong love; her cherished grandma Bushy and all her aunts, uncles and three cousins, Rodney Ritter, Pamela Deveau, and Rick Filipek, among many other loved ones.
Jackie was a refined woman of elegance who led a charmed life of personal and professional successes. As a devoted wife she doted on her husband and focused her extraordinary interior design talents on making their houses at Cape Cod and in Meriden warm and inviting homes for them and their three adored schnauzers: Sunday, Whimsey and S.W. Star.
Professionally, first as a middle school English teacher and then as an Elementary Ed School counselor she supported all her students with love, attention and most of all kindness even when needing her guiding hand of positive discipline.
Once she hung up her "briefcase" from the Meriden School System she wasn't done giving of herself, working an additional 13 years as a child advocate protecting the rights and needs of special education students in various districts around the state.
She often brought home a cardboard box filled with student files that she coined her "polish attaché case." It pleased her greatly that staff could always count on her diligence.
She took an active role in her College Club awarding scholarships to needy students often hosting club meetings. She also took great pride in having her nominations of Edwin Naamon Jr. MD and Brian Mahon, Attorney/Former Probate Judge become deserving Meriden Hall of Fame recipients.
Jackie had a surprisingly wicked sense of humor. Her unexpected one liners provided much laughter over the years.
A graduate of Meriden High School and St. Joseph College for Women, she was especially pleased to receive the "Best Dressed" senior class notable. She was "Best Dressed" throughout her life having an exquisite sense of style that garnered many compliments.
Jackie was the dichotomy of tough and gentle who was truly generous of heart.
For those of us fortunate enough to benefit from her nurturing and supportive nature we can only express gratitude for the love and guidance she provided that had such a profound impact on our lives.
She is survived by the extremely large Filipek clan as her father Thad was the oldest one of nine brothers and sisters, hence her cousins were many who, together over the years, enjoyed many family Christmas parties as well as much summer fun at a family cottage on Lake Congamond.
She was predeceased by uncles Richard "Honey" Filipek, a well-known kielbasa maker with his son, Rick, and well-known tennis star Winton Sr.
She is survived by her cousins, Hollie Thomas (Richard), Winton Filipek, Jr (Margaret), Susan Mende, David Filipek, Jill Piatek (Phil), Drew Piatek, Linda Standish (Bob), Patricia Kirouac (Dave), Penny Sehl, Kathy Scalzi, Nancy Filipek, and many second cousins, relatives and friends. She is also survived by the Nadile family including Robert Nadile Sr. (Penny), brother of James, Deborah Nadile, Cynthia Lombardo (Keith), Frederick Nadile (Robin), Donna Carnot (Dennis), Lisa Sgambati (Brian Coon), James (Jamie) Drauss (Maria), Cheryl Church, Robert Nadile Jr. and Heidi Pascale (Christopher); all nieces and nephews as well as many great/great-great ones.
We are eternally blessed to have had Tumi, her primary caregiver for the last year and a half. Her compassion, kindness, and patience were unmatched.
Family and close friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, July 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden CT. Funeral service immediately following at 6:00 p.m. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450. For online condolences, please visit jferryfh.com.

I will remember Aunt Jackie for many things. She was always impeccably dressed!Along with her exquisite fashion sense, she packed a witty sense of humor, and the ability to tell a story that left you wanting another. She had a kind heart and a generous nature. I will miss her, but I know she´s in Heaven reunited with my great Uncle Jim, sipping a Pinot Grigio and smiling.

Sincere condolences to all of Jackie's extended family and friends. I met Jackie through "Jimmy Bell" who was my first cousin through our mothers who were sisters. Jackie was always very warm and engaging. I especially remember her kindness towards my mother. Through it all, her love of schnauzers sealed the deal for me! Godspeed, Jackie!

I had the pleasure of working with Jackie at the elementary level. She was kind and caring with the special needs children. I always admired her dress and elegance each day. I was impressed by her lovely decorated home.

I enjoyed having Miss Filipek for 7th Grade English, and I will never forget how to diagram a sentence. I guess this is not being done today.
Also she had a unique way of writing the lower case letter "a".
Great Teacher.

I, too, will always remember conjugating the verb to be to the tune of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I have shared it with friends and family. She sparked my interest in grammar to the point where I bought the Warriner's grammar textbook and shared it with my son when he was in middle school. 7th grade English was one of my favorite classes.

I had Mrs. Nadile for 7th grade English. I like many others learned how to conjugate the verb to be by singing to the tune of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. Over 60 years later I can still sing it today, but boy did I hate diagramming sentences!
