James Cassidy Obituary
Born in Bridgeport, on Jan. 30, 1936, he is the son of the late William and Mary (Swift) Cassidy. He was a lifelong Meriden resident and attended local schools including Wilcox Tech where he was captain of the basketball team. Mr. Cassidy was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of Southington for over 37 years until his retirement in 1992.
Besides his wife Rose of 56 years, he is survived by three sons, James J. Cassidy, of Middlefield and David A. and Marc P. Cassidy, both of Middletown; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Conner, Ryan and Chelsea. He is also survived by a sister, Maryanne Cassidy, of Meriden; two daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Donohue, of Middlefield and Paula Scarfo Cassidy, of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his five brothers.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Friday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Mary Jane and I are so sorry for your loss and are sad we will not be able to get back to CT to pay our last respects. I will always remember playing basketball with Mr. Cassidy while growing up, he taught us the "finer points" of the game.
