James Peracchio Obituary

James A. Peracchio, 86, of Wallingford, husband of Patricia Peracchio, passed away April 30, 2022 at his home, with his family by his side.

Jim was born in Meriden on January 24, 1936, son of the late Francis and Mary (Lugnie) Peracchio.

Jim owned and operated Tri Corner Auto in Meriden for many years, until he retired. Jim loved animals and was always surrounded by his two- and four- legged friends. Growing up, he had a pet chicken, two ducks, and lots of dogs and cats. His cats, Ollie and Sonny, were by his side when he took his last breaths. Jim loved trips to the shore and eating seafood, often taking day trips with his wife to enjoy both. Jim was a kind and gentle man who never forgot a birthday. His favorite pastime was telling the most inappropriate jokes at the most appropriate times.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his daughter, Marybeth Danby (Kevin); his sons, James, Michael (Corinne) Peracchio, David (Tracy) and Richard (Wendy) Gade; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Mesinti) Peracchio and his brother, Frank.

Jim's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Beacon Hospice for their incredibly loving care during the last few months of his life.

All services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. We grew up together in the Camp, Pratt, and Hobart Street area of Meriden, so many memories. Our second home was Brookside Park where we played pick up baseball games, went swimming, fishing, and played cards on "Bum`s Grove" until it got dark and then continued under the street light on Bunker Avenue until we had to scamper home with our not too happy parents waiting. Those were the wonderful days of our youth and Jim was always one of the old gang, never to be forgotten!
My deepest condolences to Jim`s Wife and Family et al. May Jim Peracchio`s Soul rest in God`s eternal peace, "Friends are Forever"!
Sincerely, with Love and Peace,

Jim was one of the neighborhood kids growing up onCamp St. We often met at the Corner Store at the corner of Pratt and Camp where Jim worked as a teen. We loved listening to him play the accordian. See ya later Jim.
