We are so sorry for your loss. Jim was a great woodcarver & a better friend. I will miss his incredible carvings, great stories & infectious laugh. Jim was a true "Irish Gentleman" in every sense of the words. The woodcarving world has lost a great one & heaven has gained a great one. The Connecticut Woodcarving Association is better off for having Jim as a mentor & friend & we all send our thoughts & prayers to his family.

I write in honour and fond memories of my eldest first cousin who filled the world for 82 years with a wonderful smile and joy in his heart. His love of his family was paramount and so, to Terry, Laura and Ted, Jamie and Regina and their families I say, cherish the memories.

Anyone who knew this man received a personal carving on their heart that will remain with them forever. So blessed to have known such a humble and gracious man. Prayers to Terry, Laura, Jamie and the rest of his beautiful family.

I grew up with the greatest extended family a man could ask for, and even though all of our last names were not "Sheehan" we knew where are roots originated. Much of that knowledge and sense of belonging came from my Uncle Jimmy. He not only grounded us in our Irish roots, he encouraged all of us in our creative endeavors. Some of my fondest memories are spending time in his shop watching him work wonders with wood, only realizing later in life what an inspiration he had been to me and many others. I will miss my favorite Uncle and can only begin to imagine the loss felt by Terry, Laura, Jamie and all his wonderful grandchildren - my thoughts and prayers are with you.
